Bayeux Tapestry embroiderers
Unknown or anonymous artist
The Bayeux Tapestry was stitched in the 1070s, probably in England and perhaps ordered by Bishop Odo of Bayeux, William the Conqueror's half-brother. Its embroiderers are not known by name, though they were most likely skilled English needlewomen. It is about 70 meters long and now hangs in Bayeux, France.
