1930–2012 · born in Wapakoneta, Ohio · died in Cincinnati

Neil Armstrong, born in 1930 in Ohio, was the commander of Apollo 11 and the first person to walk on the Moon in 1969. Because he carried the camera, most of the famous photographs from the Moon walk show Buzz Aldrin, not him. He died in 2012.
