The biggest museum of contemporary African art in the world is in a converted grain silo on Cape Town's waterfront, with a dramatic atrium cut into its concrete tubes.
History of the museum
The grain silo, built in 1921, was once the tallest building in sub-Saharan Africa. The British architect Thomas Heatherwick turned it into a museum that opened in 2017.
