A holiday at Mentone
Charles Conder Β· 1888
Why it's great
People relax on the sunny beach at Menton, on the French Riviera, with the blue sea and mountains. Charles Conder, an English-born painter who grew up in Australia, painted this when he was only 20. The bright light and fresh colors are charming. It's an early hit.
