Adoration of the Magi
Fra Angelico · 1430
Why it's great
The three wise men bring gifts to the baby Jesus in this glowing little picture, which is round like a plate. Fra Angelico, a Dominican friar, began it in about 1430, and Filippo Lippi, who was a young friend, probably finished it.
