April Love

Arthur Hughes Β· 1855

Why it's great

A young woman in a blue gown and a young man kneel together with a trailing rose bush, a shy and sad moment. Hughes painted it in a very fine detail with rich color. The painting is based on a poem by Tennyson. It's a dreamy scene of first love.
