Virgin of the Councillors
Lluís Dalmau · 1445
Why it's great
Mary and the baby Jesus sit on a throne with angels while a group of city councillors from Barcelona kneel beside her. Lluís Dalmau painted it in 1445, and the councillors are painted like real people.
