Portrait of Susanna Lunden

Peter Paul Rubens Β· 1622

Why it's great

A woman in a big black hat looks out with a warm, steady gaze. Peter Paul Rubens painted it in about 1622, and it is known as Le Chapeau de Paille, the straw hat, because of a mistaken name.
