Proun 19D
El Lissitzky Β· 1920
Why it's great
A tilted cube, a ball and a few bars float in a space that looks like a model of a future city. El Lissitzky invented the word Proun, a sort of 'project for the new', for his in-between works that were halfway between painting and architecture. This one is from 1920.
