Summer Night
Kitty Lange Kielland · 1886
Why it's great
A calm Norwegian summer night, with the sun low in a sky of pink and blue and a quiet lake. Kitty Lange Kielland painted the northern light in the midnight summer, when it never gets fully dark. The picture captures a sense of peace. It's a famous Norwegian landscape.
