Amsterdamer Waisenmädchen im Garten

Max Liebermann · 1885

Why it's great

Orphan girls sit and walk together in a leafy garden, in the dappled sunshine. This is another version of the orphanage garden theme Max Liebermann loved. He painted it again and again in different lights. It shows his love for the way the light moves through leaves.
