Cobbler's shop
Max Liebermann · 1881
Why it's great
A cobbler sits and works at his bench in a small shop, surrounded by shoes and tools. Max Liebermann was fascinated by workers and their daily tasks. The warm, gloomy light and the careful composition show his respect for the craft. It's a quiet picture of a simple trade.
