Assiniboine Hunting Buffalo
Paul Kane Β· 1851
Why it's great
Assiniboine hunters on horseback race across the plains, chasing a herd of buffalo. Paul Kane painted this on his trip across the prairies in the 1840s. The galloping horses and flying dust are full of excitement. It's one of the most famous Canadian paintings of the plains.
