Portrait of a Princess
Pisanello · 1437
Why it's great
A young woman in profile wears a fancy red dress, and she is surrounded by butterflies and flowers that look like patterns on a tapestry. Pisanello painted it in about 1437, and she may be Ginevra d'Este or Margherita Gonzaga.
