Portrait of an old woman reading

Gerrit Dou Β· 1631

Why it's great

An old woman with a wrinkled face reads a large book, and the light glows on the pages. Gerrit Dou painted it in 1631, and it's a student work of Rembrandt, painted with tiny, delicate brushes.
