Portrait of Gregor Baci
Unknown artist Β· 1550
Why it's great
A man with a thin beard looks calmly out of the picture, with a curved horn growing from his forehead. Gregor Baci lived in the 1500s in what is now Slovenia, and the growth made him a curiosity who was brought to the court of the Habsburg rulers, where an unknown artist painted him.
