Battle of Orsha
Unknown artist · 1525
Why it's great
Two huge armies clash on a river, with dozens of tiny soldiers, horses and cannons stretched over a big landscape. A painter close to Lucas Cranach made this in about 1525, and it shows a battle in 1514 where the Poles and Lithuanians beat the Russians.
