St Mark's Body Brought to Venice

Jacopo Tintoretto Β· 1564

Why it's great

Sailors carry the body of Saint Mark through a storm in a crowded square, with strong colors and diagonal lines. Jacopo Tintoretto painted it in 1564, about the legend of how Saint Mark's body came to Venice.
