The Burning Bush
Nicolas Froment Β· 1475
Why it's great
Moses kneels near a bush that is on fire, but not burning up, while the Virgin Mary and the child sit within it. Nicolas Froment painted this triptych in about 1475, and the bush is a sign of how God appeared to Moses.
