The Holy Family with a Bird
Bartolomé Esteban Murillo · 1650
Why it's great
Mary, Joseph and the baby Jesus play with a pet bird and a little dog in a warm, homey scene. Bartolomé Esteban Murillo painted it in about 1650, and the family looks like a real Spanish family.
