The Vision to the Youth Bartholomew

Mikhail Nesterov Β· 1889

Why it's great

A young boy named Bartholomew kneels, as a monk in black appears in the meadow, in a calm, golden evening. Nesterov painted the vision of the future St. Sergius of Radonezh. The landscape is shimmering. It's a quiet and holy picture.
