A Rose

Thomas Pollock Anshutz Β· 1907

Why it's great

A woman in a rose-pink gown sits in a quiet pose, painted with soft, warm color. Thomas Pollock Anshutz was a Philadelphia painter and teacher who taught many famous artists at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. He painted this late in his career. It's a delicate, gentle portrait.
