Casting the Net

Suzanne Valadon Β· 1914

Why it's great

Two strong, bare-skinned figures prepare to cast a net, in a natural landscape. Suzanne Valadon was a painter who started out as an artist's model and became a famous painter herself. She painted people with strength and honesty. It's a lively, vigorous picture.
