Gather Ye Rosebuds While Ye May
John William Waterhouse Β· 1909
Why it's great
Young women in soft, flowing dresses gather pink roses in a sunlit garden. The title is taken from a famous poem that tells us to enjoy life while we're young. Waterhouse painted the faces and the flowers with great skill. It's a gentle and lovely picture.
