Frederic Leighton Β· 1884
Why it's great
A young man wakes in a forest and sees a sleeping girl, and he is changed forever by love. Leighton painted a scene from a story by Boccaccio. The golden light and rich colors are beautiful. It's a lush picture of a magical moment.
