Grindelwald glacier
Thomas Fearnley · 1838
Why it's great
A great glacier shines in the Swiss Alps, between steep mountains, with tiny people and houses in the valley. Thomas Fearnley, a Norwegian painter, traveled across Europe and painted famous landscapes. He was friends with Johan Christian Dahl and with the English painter Turner. It's a vast Alpine view.
