View of Florence

Thomas Cole · 1837

Why it's great

The city of Florence, Italy, shines golden in the setting sun, seen from a hill. Thomas Cole lived in Florence for a while, learning from the great Italian art. The soft light and the city's domes are lovely. It's a peaceful travel picture.
