View from Stalheim
Johan Christian Dahl · 1842
Why it's great
A deep valley opens below a steep mountain farm, with a waterfall and a village, under a sky of golden clouds. Johan Christian Dahl was a Norwegian painter who loved the grandeur of his country's landscape. The view is real and still looks the same today. It's a national treasure.
