Kajikazawa in Kai province

Katsushika Hokusai Β· 1831

Why it's great

A fisherman stands on a rock in the swirling sea with a net, as Mount Fuji rises in the distance. This woodblock print by Hokusai shows him pulling a line against the rolling waves. The simple shapes are very bold. It's part of his series of Thirty-Six Views of Mount Fuji.
