The Gardener
Giuseppe Arcimboldo Β· 1587
Why it's great
A bowl of vegetables, which looks like a still life, turns into a man's face when you turn it upside down. Giuseppe Arcimboldo painted it in about 1590, and the roots, onions and peas make up the face.
