Witchcraft (Allegory of Hercules)
Dosso Dossi Β· 1535
Why it's great
A witch with a bowl and a pot of potion works her spells, surrounded by men who have been turned into animals. Dosso Dossi painted it in about 1535, and a strange scene from Greek myth is hidden in it.
