National Museum in Kraków
Kraków's national museum has Polish art in the beautiful Cloth Hall in the main square, and it also includes the Czartoryski Museum, which holds Leonardo da Vinci's Lady with an Ermine.
History of the museum
The museum began in 1879, when the city gave its collection a home, and its Gallery of 19th-Century Polish Art in the Cloth Hall in the main square opened in 1879. In 2016 the Czartoryski Foundation's collections were bought by the Polish state and joined the museum.
