Love at the Fountain of Life

Giovanni Segantini ยท 1896

Why it's great

A young couple and an angel stand among rocks and trees by a spring of water, in a dreamy, symbolic picture. Giovanni Segantini, an Italian painter who lived in the Alps, painted many pictures about life and nature. The fountain of life stands for the beginning of love. It's a quiet, thoughtful picture.
