The Clubfoot
Jusepe de Ribera · 1642
Why it's great
A smiling boy with a twisted foot holds a paper that says 'Give me alms for the love of God,' over his shoulder like a crutch. Jusepe de Ribera painted it in 1642, and he treated the poor boy with respect and warmth.
