Castle Bentheim

Jacob van Ruisdael Β· 1653

Why it's great

A castle sits high on a hilltop, lit by the sun, with a stormy sky and a path leading up to it. Jacob van Ruisdael painted it in 1653, and the real castle is in Germany.
