Olé !
Clarence Gagnon · 1906
Why it's great
A dancer in a bright red dress stands with her arm raised in a flamenco pose, while a guitarist plays beside her. Clarence Gagnon, a Quebec painter, traveled widely in Europe and painted scenes from Spain. The title is the Spanish shout of praise, 'Olé!' It shows that Canadian artists also painted the world.
