The Bull
Paulus Potter Β· 1647
Why it's great
A big black and white bull stands in a field in front of a farmer, a ram and a few cows. Paulus Potter painted it in 1647 when he was only 22, and it is life-size, so large that it was once thought to be too big to hang.
