The Vision of Saint Bernard

Pietro Perugino Β· 1490

Why it's great

Saint Bernard sits at a desk writing when Mary appears to him in a vision, with angels at her side. Pietro Perugino painted it in about 1490, and the quiet landscape through the arches gives it a calm feel.
