As the Old Sing, So Pipe the Young

Jan Steen Β· 1665

Why it's great

A family at a party sing and drink and smoke, and the grandparents do it too, while a small boy puffs on a pipe. Jan Steen painted it in about 1668, and the title is a proverb that children copy what the adults do.
