Woman in Blue Reading a Letter

Johannes Vermeer Β· 1664

Why it's great

A woman in a blue jacket stands, absorbed, reading a letter in front of a big map. Johannes Vermeer painted it in about 1664, and her calm face makes you wonder what the letter says.
