Bridal Procession on the Hardangerfjord
Adolph Tidemand & Hans Gude · 1848
Why it's great
A wedding party rows a boat full of people in traditional costume across a fjord, with mountains behind them. Tidemand painted the figures and Gude painted the landscape — a team effort. It became an icon of Norwegian identity. It's famous for making the country's culture proud.
