An Officer's Room in Montreal

Cornelius Krieghoff Β· 1846

Why it's great

A cozy room with an officer's belongings, bed and gear, in the glow of lamplight. Cornelius Krieghoff painted this in his early years in Montreal, when many British officers lived there. It gives a close look at daily life in Canada in the 1840s. It's a charming interior.
