The Regatta at Molesey

Alfred Sisley · 1874

Why it's great

Sailboats and rowboats race on the Thames in a breezy day, as spectators watch from the bank under a sky of white clouds. Sisley painted this during a visit to England in 1874. The light is crisp. It's a happy scene of boating.
