The Banks of the Oise

Alfred Sisley · 1877

Why it's great

A quiet river curves between trees under a pale blue sky, with soft reflections. Sisley painted the countryside near Paris, in the light of a spring day. The picture is gentle and peaceful. It's a soothing landscape.
