The Seine at Port-Marly, Piles of Sand
Alfred Sisley Β· 1875
Why it's great
Workers unload piles of sand from barges on the Seine, under a wide blue sky. Alfred Sisley painted riverside life with a calm eye. The colors of sky and water are lovely and fresh. It's a quiet picture of a working river.
