Syndics of the Drapers' Guild

Rembrandt Β· 1662

Why it's great

Five cloth inspectors in black hats sit at a table in a red cloth, while a sixth stands behind, all looking up at us as if we had just come in. Rembrandt painted it in 1662, and it is one of the most famous group portraits.
