A Quiet Monastery
Isaac Levitan Β· 1890
Why it's great
A white monastery sits on a green hill by a river, in a golden, quiet light. Levitan loved to paint the Russian landscape with a mood of calm. It's a place that seems out of time. It's a peaceful, spiritual scene.
