Sokolniki. Autumn
Isaac Levitan Β· 1879
Why it's great
A sunny path in a yellow autumn park, with a lone woman in a black dress, leads into a forest of golden birches. Levitan painted this in Moscow when he was a young man. The glowing colors and the mood of the season are lovely. It's a favorite Russian landscape.
