Isaac Levitan Β· 1895
Why it's great
Sunlight on melting snow around a cottage, with a tree and a horse, in early spring. Levitan painted the first days of spring in Russia with a clear, bright eye. The blue shadows on the snow are lovely. It's a fresh landscape.
