Summer Evening at Skagen. The Artist's Wife and Dog by the Shore
Peder Severin Krøyer · 1892
Why it's great
The artist's wife walks on the beach with her dog, under a pink and blue twilight. Krøyer painted the tender glow of a northern evening. The sea is a soft, glassy color. It's a peaceful scene.
